After hearing about pelvic health physical therapists on a urinary health supplement blog, I contacted a friend who is a PT in another state who ultimately helped me find Dr. McCleary through a PT database. She is the only female pelvic health PT in our area. I referred myself and got a crash course on urinary and pelvic health from her. I learned so much about my urinary health and habits that were affecting my urinary tract. It was the most informative appointment I’ve ever had about urinary health and UTIs in the 13+ years I’ve battled UTIs. From urologists, gynecologists, PCPs, urgent cares, etc., Dr. McCleary was the most knowledgeable person on the subject. After learning some exercises, better bladder habits, and a basic anatomy lesson I feel physically and mentally better about combatting UTIs. Christine McCleary, DPT, WCS

Dr. Christine McCleary, an RGV native has earned the professional designation of board-certified clinical specialist in Women's Health Physical Therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). She is currently the only therapist who is Board Certified in treating pelvic floor dysfunction in the Rio Grande Valley. McCleary specializes in the identification and treatment of common but uncomfortable conditions such as urinary leakage, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. In the past 2 years, she has expanded her services to males to address bowel and bladder symptoms commonly associated with prostate surgery and stroke. Her passion is educating women and helping new mom's recover from pregnancy and delivery.

Dr McCleary graduated in 2012 from The Ohio State University, with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, interned in Auckland, New Zealand, and earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas State University. Recognizing that the Rio Grande Valley was desperately in need of a service provider with her specialized skills, she opened RGV Pelvic Health Physical Therapy in McAllen, TX. She also provides services at Triumph Therapy in Weslaco, TX. Dr McCleary will continue to work extensively with women and men of her community by offering evidenced-based services, to improve their comfort and quality of life.
